Commissionaires BC is seeking detail-oriented and observant CCTV Operations Monitors to support security and operational activities in a controlled environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining situational awareness, identifying potential risks, and supporting timely response through effective monitoring and communication.
About the Role CCTV Operations Monitors are responsible for continuous video surveillance, incident verification, and coordination with dispatch and emergency services as required. This position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm in evolving situations.
Schedule: Monday to Thursday 8pm-8am (2000-0800)
OR Friday to Sunday 8pm-8am (2000-0800)
Pay Rate: $27/hr under an averaging agreement
Key Responsibilities
CCTV Monitoring: Continuously monitor assigned camera feeds to maintain situational awareness across designated locations
Situational Awareness & Verification: Assess live video feeds to identify unusual, suspicious, or unsafe activity and verify incidents prior to escalation
Incident Escalation & Coordination: Follow established escalation protocols, notifying dispatch or emergency services when required
Operational Support: Provide real-time, accurate, and timely information to client to support informed response and decision-making
Reporting & Documentation: Accurately document monitoring activities, observations, and incidents in accordance with established procedures and reporting standards
Must-Have Qualifications
Valid BC Security Licence
Complete police clearance process, including having lived in Canada for the last 5 or more years for eligibility purposes
Strong observational skills and excellent attention to detail
Ability to remain focused during prolonged monitoring periods
Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to follow established procedures and escalation protocols
