Security Construction Safety Escort - Matsqui
Commissionaires BC is currently hiring Construction Safety Escorts to support work at a federal institution in Matsqui, BC. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, professional, and interested in gaining experience in a secure government environment.
About the Role
Construction Safety Escorts are responsible for the safe, secure, and compliant movement of contractors on-site, in accordance with institutional security requirements. This position does not involve supervising or overseeing inmates.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, between 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- Employment Type: Casual / on-call (with full-time hours available)
- Pay Rate: Starting at $21.67/hour
- Escort construction workers while projects are being completed on site
- Escort individuals to and from uncontrolled, restricted, and sterile areas
- Verify all Temporary Passes against lost and stolen pass lists prior to entry
- Notify appropriate parties upon entry to and exit from the facility
- Report all safety or security incidents to the Senior Escort, regardless of severity
- Ensure required escort ratios are maintained at all times
- Maintain continuous visual contact with escorted individuals using Temporary Passes
- Valid BC Security Licence
- Minimum 5 years of residency in Canada (required for security clearance)
- Reliable transportation to and from site (location is not transit-friendly)
- Valuable hands-on experience in a federal security environment
